This is a flexible, part-time summer role at the Centre for Academic English to plan and deliver a programme of social events and local trips for international students using an existing template, with scope for new ideas. The students will be studying on the Centre’s Pre-sessional Academic English Programme as preparation for mainly postgraduate study at the College. Please note that this post is fixed term spread flexibly over 13 weeks from 26th June to 22nd September 2017.
Working with the Pre-sessional Programme Director and the Pre-sessional Administrator, the post holder will create a varied schedule of extra-curricular social events for students for the duration of the Pre-sessional Programme, as well as play an active part in introducing the students to British life and culture.
The role is diverse and requires an outgoing and responsible individual who has a good knowledge of London, a good understanding of the needs of international students, and a positive and enthusiastic attitude to introducing them to British culture.
Social events take place on weekday late afternoon/evenings and/or weekends and the post holder will normally be expected to accompany students on these events. A flexible approach to the weekly work schedule is, therefore, essential.
