YC Hertfordshire is delivering the National Citizen Service (NCS) during summer 2017 across the county.
NCS offers young people aged 16-17 (to 24 for those with a learning disability) the opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and attitudes to support them in engaging with their local community and volunteer in a social action project.
We require youth support workers to assist in the delivery of the programme who are able to commit to a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks. The first 2 weeks of the programme are residential and you must reside at the venue for the two consecutive Monday – Fridays. Accommodation is provided free of charge during this time.
We are looking for highly motivated and energetic individuals with experience of working with young people. The role will involve supporting young people to develop personal and social skills through residentials and social action programmes, enabling them to grow in confidence and gain resilience.
The programme for 2017 will be running from 26 June until 25 August.
There will be a 3 day training event in May prior to the start of the programme which you are required to attend.
