Undergraduate Marketing Assistant in Ascot

We are looking for an Undergraduate Marketing Assistant to join the team at Ascot Racecourse!

Job description

We are looking for a Graduate marketing internship for a fixed term period to support our marketing team over the busy summer months. Ideally, you'll need to be available to start work early June (or as early as possible) until September 2017.

You will be responsible for supporting the consumer and content marketing teams across a broad range of activities including (but not limited to) social media support, copywriting, updating the Ascot website using ascot.co.uk CMS, assistance with research and reporting, advertising, e-marketing, team admin support and PR as we build up to our busiest period including world-renowned Royal Ascot, the King George VI Weekend and the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup.

  • 3. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Updating the Ascot website
  • Writing and building e-newsletters
  • Supporting with social media activity and content creation
  • Arranging promotional events
  • Supporting with reporting
  • Supporting customer research activity
  • Copywriting
  • Ad hoc tasks as part of the marketing department (eg. putting up posters / distributing racecards etc..)

  • 4. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • IT skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); Photoshop and/or Final Cut Pro a bonus but not essential
  • 1st class or 2:1 Degree
  • Relevant experience ideal – either within or outside of an office environment, for example past roles, work experience and/or participation in relevant university/personal projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem solving / analytical skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good planning & organisation skills
  • Works well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Team player
  • Sport/racing knowledge preferred but not critical

    The jobholder will be required to work closely and courteously with colleagues from all internal departments of the Company, visitors, customers, the management team, participants in racedays and suppliers to support the department's role. In particular the job holder will require strong collaboration with the following departments; Facilities, M&E, ICT and Operations.
