Researcher (Intern) in London

CDSB is seeking an enthusiastic intern with excellent research skills to support the team in working on an exciting project.

What are you going to do:

We seek an enthusiastic intern to work in our global secretariat as a Researcher to support the team in undertaking analytical research for a strategic review of climate change reporting regulations in a number of jurisdictions. The review will explore the extent to which mandatory climate change reporting policy and regulation have been adopted and their potential for wider uptake across the G20, EU, OECD and Commonwealth. In this role, you will undertake legal research, identify and analyse trends, identify gaps, and prepare structured research summaries. The role affords the opportunity to liaise with relevant stakeholders to validate research findings to ensure they are accurate and up to date.

About CDSB

The Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) is an international consortium of business and environmental NGOs. We are committed to advancing and aligning the global mainstream corporate reporting model to equate natural capital with financial capital. CDP provides the Secretariat to CDSB. In this internship, you will have an opportunity to learn about CDP and gain experience in its various activities, in addition to your primary role with CDSB.

Duration

CDSB is looking to recruit an intern for a minimum of 3-4 days per week for 3-6 months. In instances where interns are not working full time, they should ideally commit to set days each week.
Please note: this role is an unpaid internship. However, lunch and travel expenses within London (zones 1-6) will be reimbursed.

You will engage closely with the team's Policy and External Affairs Manager and Technical Manager in your work.

  • or 3 years relevant work experience

  • Candidates will:

  • Be educated to graduate level (or currently studying for a relevant advanced degree) or have a minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience;
  • Possess excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to conduct independent research;
  • Able to organise, plan and prioritise workload and work under pressure to deadlines;
  • Able to produce high-quality outputs (e.g. reports) and write succinctly and persuasively;
  • Able to grasp new and complex topics and to problem-solve;
  • Possess influencing and networking skills and an ability to maintain good working relations with a variety of stakeholders; and
  • Be an effective team player.
  • Desirable, but not essential:
  • Experience in conducting research and analysis on legal issues or climate policy issues.
  • Good working knowledge of French, Japanese, Korean or Spanish would be beneficial (but not essential) to support legal research in some jurisdictions.
  • An interest in and knowledge of one or more of the following areas: climate change, environment/energy, corporate reporting, sustainable business, policy, public administration, economics and finance.
