Web Content Editor in Wrexham

We’re on the lookout for talented, enthusiastic and driven people who can match our aspirations for success, helping us to achieve even more.

What are you going to do:

You'll be joining a fantastic group of Web Content Editors who are responsible for the delivery of all content across a number of websites and associated e-commerce channels.

Obviously, you'll have a natural flair with the written word, but equally as important you will live and breathe sports! You'll constantly be pushing yourself to understand the wants and needs of our diverse range of customers, and will single-handedly be in sole ownership of a number of sporting categories, fully immersing yourself in them and being the voice of that sport for Net World Sports. You will need to ensure your copy clearly communicates key product features of your range in an engaging, informative and persuasive way, which will ultimately inspire purchase decisions.

Your responsibilities as Web Content Editor will include, but aren't limited to:

  • Take sole ownership of a sporting category and take the time to research and gain useful knowledge in the key areas of that given sport
  • Update and enhance existing website content across a range of platforms, including product descriptions, pricing and meta information, ensuring it accurately reflects company style-guides and is optimised for search engine rankings
  • Create descriptions for new products, understanding product briefs and translating into engaging, informative and influential content
  • Analyse website traffic, orders, sales figures and other trends in order to consistently identify opportunities for growth (new products, possible upsells etc.)
  • Maintain a vested interest in SEO, regularly tracking the SERPs of your key products and consistently tweaking and enhancing the copy, where necessary, to ensure they achieve the best possible rankings
  • Contribute to the blog, working with the wider marketing team to create and follow a content calendar
  • Provide ad-hoc writing and creative support for the marketing team in other areas of necessary copy, i.e. PR, customer services, email, social media
  • Continuously suggest new and exciting ways to engage with customers and forge better relationships through the development of content

What we offer:

.

What we ask:

  • GCSEs
  • What you'll need to show us:

The successful Web Content Editor will possess an exceptional standard of literacy, have an ability to prioritise a varied workload, and meet deadlines. You will be highly motivated and full of ideas as well as having the attention to detail to consistently produce work of the highest calibre.

Ideally you will have knowledge of HTML, CSS and Search Engine Optimisation, as well as an understanding of content management systems, but more importantly you'll be a quick learner and keen to prove yourself from day one. You don't necessarily have to be a budding sports star, but your passion and expertise should shine through in both your outlook and your work.
