IT Security Operations Manager

Permanent Position

Flexible on location – Peterborough, Aldersgate or one of our European offices

This role will be to support the management and ownership of security services and operations within Thomas Cook.  You will be responsible for providing support and guidance to the Cyber Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Management and Operational Security teams.

Within this role you will be liaising with stakeholders in the business to determine impacts, workarounds, analytical services and give recommendations for improvements.

Additional responsibilities will include

• Responsible for tracking identified Operational Security risks within IT Security Operations and escalating as required
• Responsible for providing upward management reporting for Operational IT Security teams
• Manage and Develop the IT Security team from training through to discipline
• Oversee the implementation of network security controls
• Develop standard operating procedures and best practices
• Manage 3^rd party IT Security supplier relationships

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Previous experience within an IT Security Operations role
• An in-depth understanding of security incident handling, vulnerability management, penetration testing and operational security activities.
• Strong analytical skills, capable of analysing complex technical information to identify patterns, trends and linkage.
• Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into easily understood principals.
• Previous experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
• Previous experience working with Senior Management teams to manage multi concurrent IT projects
• Strong project and people management skills
• Experience of managing outsourced services and vendors with a proven track record of enhancing value and co-ordinating and motivating multinational teams

Technical / professional qualifications:

• MSc
• CCNP
• GSEC
