As a dedicated Warehouse Maintenance Operative, you’ll take care in ensuring our equipment is always maintained to the highest standard. You’ll play a key role supporting and assisting the maintenance team with key maintenance tasks across our Regional Distribution Centre and network of stores.This role will require initiative and a flexible working pattern including lates, nights and weekends.
What will you do?
- Assisting the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all statutory and internal service schedules for equipment are undertaken
- Conducting an ongoing service schedule for Store Mechanical Handling Equipment
- (MHE) and ensuring records are maintained
- Ensuring that all RDC systems, such as lighting, refrigeration and heating, remain in good working condition
- Ensuring all equipment breakdowns in the RDC are fixed in the most efficient,accurate and effective manner
- Ensuring that company procedures are followed by all employees
- Encouraging a proactive approach to Health & Safety in the RDC
- Controlling and developing working practices across the RDC in order to increase productivity and efficiency levels
- Assisting the Maintenance Manager to ensure that departmental targets are met
What will you need?
- Motivated and positive in all aspects of work with the ability to use their own initiative
- Excellent collaboration skills, but also the ability to work independently
- A high comfort level working with moving equipment
- A flexible can-do attitude
- An eye for detail
- A sense of pride in a job well done
- A strong multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Fully flexible with regards to working evenings, weekends and nightshifts
- Previous experience or expertise in maintenance tasks is desirable but not essential
- Relevant Qualifications are desirable (i.e. NVQ, BTEC) but are not essential
