 What are key highlights of this role?


You will join a team of Credit Managers and report directly to the UKI Credit Manager. You will build and maintain strong relationships with the Customer Care / Customer Supply Chain and Operational teams based on site, together with Commercial and Financial teams based in the field, our head office in Hammersmith and Ireland. You will also need to establish a unique partnership with all our customers.

 

The Credit Manager will be responsible for the proactive management of our sales ledger to ensure timely payment of invoices and efficient resolution of queries through continued monitoring and collaboration with customers.


They will support the delivery of key KPI's, participate in process improvements and projects, be part of a highly motivated workforce and manage the cash collection of their individual customer base.


To succeed in this demanding high profile role, you will demonstrate sound financial awareness and a sound working knowledge of sales ledger management and accounting principles. Your organisational skills, attention to detail and your ability to prioritise will be critical in our fast moving environment of constant change. Highly motivated and proactive you will be a specialist in your field, a confident and strong leader; you will display professionalism in your dealings with internal colleagues and external customers through excellent communications skills. You will have a proven ability to influence and engage, with good organisation skills and a flexible service-orientated attitude. You will have a passion for success by developing and implementing strategies to improve our performance.


You will ideally be a member of the Institute of Credit Management and have an excellent understanding of credit management principles and techniques. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office packages, with particular confidence using Microsoft Excel. Experience of using SAP would be advantageous. Regular travel to customers or our Head Office in Hammersmith and also Ireland will be required.


Measures of success:

  • Advocate the Environment, Health and Safety initiatives within your team and in close liaison with the wider department and EHS function;
  • Manage the Credit Management function for a selected customer base and its related budget;

  • Ensure the growth and stability of our business by managing, organizing and motivating the team to achieve outstanding results;

  • Manage and monitor the efficiency of the credit policy and procedures, develop and modify where necessary to conform to groups norms, SLA, legal obligations, internal compliance, audit & KPI’s;
  • Forge strong relationships with commercial teams to ensure regular liaison achieves a thorough understanding and a passion to deliver our credit responsibilities;
  • Set ambitious credit targets and objectives and stride with your team to exceed them;
  • Manage the credit insurance functions for a selected customer base;
  • Advise and recommend by exception and where relevant any none adherence to either credit policy or insurance for a selected customer base;
  • Ensure full understanding and clarity of all open transactions on the sales ledger and that any invalid or disputed deductions are dealt with swiftly;
  • Produce full suite of credit management reports for results, forecast and provision;
  • Ensure risk is mitigated – through working closely with the commercial team, apply your expertise in risk assessment, ensuring all credit lines are in place limiting the risk to the business and to act in an advisory capacity where relevant
  • Drive change by inspiring new and creative projects either via yourself/team or as directed by the UKI Credit Manager.


Preferred qualifications/experience:

  • Track record of high volume data analysis; ability to manipulate numerical information quickly and efficiently and without error;
  • Highly IT Literate: an experienced user of MS Office, particularly MS Excel, Word and Outlook and be able to quickly grasp the use of different systems;
  • Be able to display excellent communication and negotiation skills; able to achieve mutually acceptable solutions to problems which arise; level headed, able to manage and resolve issues under pressure;
  • Have strong interpersonal skills in order to build affective relationships with customers and L’Oréal colleagues. A good networker;
  • Able to work autonomously, while also being able to communicate effectively and contribute as part of a team;
  • Able to multi-task, prioritise and work efficiently and effectively; proactive and responsive to a rapidly changing environment, able to cope with change and respond positively;
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills (dealing with customers either face-to-face, by telephone or by other correspondence);
  • Experience of using SAP and BI/BW advantageous;
  • A proactive approach and the ability to resolve issues in a quick and efficient manner;
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing conditions;
  • Excellent attention to detail, accurate and precise; and
  • Confident and enthusiastic in your manner, you will be practical and methodical in your approach to problem solving, and will work well as part of a team.
