We have an excellent opportunity for someone who has the desire to develop and pursue a career in Operations and specifically Logistics.  We are looking to recruit an apprentice who will join our Stock Control team.  Being an apprentice means that you have a job that includes gaining recognized qualifications and essential skills whilst you are working and earning a wage.  You must have proven experience of warehouse and administration work and be comfortable navigating around our current systems.  The successful candidate will be self-driven and results orientated.  In addition they will have a logical approach to all matters and strong communication skills.

Your role will be to assist the Stock Control team with the roll out of a new override project which will help give our operations team a clear and consistent picture of any stock issues which has implications for on-going quality control within the Distribution center and will give us the capability to have a better judgment of customer queries

Your key job accountabilities:

  • Daily processing of weight checking
  • Actively liaise with Trafford Park Operations teams regarding changes to stock locations and subsequent picking implications
  • Learn SAP to be able provide support to the Stock Control team
  • To ensure that stock is accurately recorded on the SAP system
  • To investigate and resolve stock queries
  • Continually re-evaluate the appropriateness of how stock is located in order to maximize operational efficiency
  • To record and report stock related KPI’s and statistic

Essential skills required:

  • Experience of picking operation, understand how a warehouse operates and implications of changes to locations and data
  • Computer literate
  • Self-motivated, pro-active and can work on own initiative
  • Meticulous approach, demonstrates highest attention to detail and completes tasks to the required standard
  • Willingness to learn and take on challenges with a positive attitude
  • A flexible approach to working hours

To succeed in this role you will need to be a quick learner and have an inquisitive nature, you should be confident speaking to a wide range of people in person and via the phone and email.  You must be logical and analytical in your approach to problem solving but also be able to add a creative flair.  Passionate about adding value to the supply chain within the World’s largest cosmetics company is essential.  Prior experience of a picking operation would be an advantage to understand how the warehouse operates. 

The network you would work with:

You will become part of the Trafford Park stock control team, responsible for the accuracy of our stock holding and the appropriateness of its location. Reporting into the site’s stock control team leader, the role involves close collaboration with the wider physical distribution team and also customer supply chain.
