We’ve got a fantastic job for a Specifications Technologist to join our Spalding manufacturing site. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will work closely with the technical team to ensure that product specifications are captured, documented and updated.
Requirements of the Job
As a Specifications Technologist you will progress innovation via equipment or ingredients ensuring consistent legal and safe products are produced. You will also provide QAS, HACCP and recipe data for process controls as well as assisting the site with ingredients or process challenges. You will translate approved concept ideas into feasible commercial products while attending consistency and brand panels with the operations team as required.

You will need to have a food science/technology degree with proven organisational skills and an excellent attention to detail. You will have multi-site mindset and project management capability. You will also have excellent communication skills and, demonstrate assertiveness and decision making skills and a can do attitude to your work. Having experience of M Create is an advantage but not essential.
About our Spalding Manufacturing Site
Woodhead Bros Spalding is Morrisons cattle & pigs and bacon curing facility covering 164,000 sq. ft. on 7.5 acres of land. The site have 850 colleagues and run a 5 day operation. Supplying stores, Farmers Boy production sites and third party customers with raw materials to produce a full range of butchery products including materials for sausage, pies and cooked meats. Morrisons is much, much more than a big food retailer.
