Website Manager and Editor - London

Lead the support and development of the new website. Manage all technical aspects of the site (hosting, email, domain names, users, permissions, coding as appropriate, major site updates), and control and edit the content added to the site through the Dance Britain for Burma team.

Job description

Technical

  • Training staff in how to use the website (wordpress-based)
  • Managing users: adding new users, monitoring/changing permissions
  • Adding Google Analytics to the site and providing relevant information/reports to the Project Director / Communications staff on site traffic
  • Managing email addresses (run through Google Apps) as appropriate
  • Ensuring the site works effectively from a visitor/user point of view (ensuring forms work, links are correct, pages and images display correctly etc)
  • Supporting site functionality upgrades as the Dance Britain for Burma campaign moves forward
  • Liaising with all appropriate players (web hosts, designers, advisors, domain registrars) to ensure the website remains live and functional at all times
 

Editorial

  • Writing content for the website – especially news items, but also other pages as appropriate
  • Editing content submitted by the staff team – for approach/tone, grammar, spelling
  • Suggesting themes to create blog posts around
  • Supporting Ben in creating blogs and video logs on at least a weekly basis
  • Ensuring the team give regular blog and page updates as appropriate
