Technical Manager - Vendor Assurance in Bradford

We’ve got a fantastic job for a Technical Manager – Vendor Assurance to join our support centre in Bradford. Reporting to the Head of Technical, you will be responsible for leading the supplier approval program across manufacturing. Develop and implement the Technical strategy for manufacturing suppliers. Managing our third party audit body and Lead quality improvements through supplier performance. Drive Green status through supplier performance. Through the audits upholding all elements of food safety and legality, maintaining the reputation of our brand and GSCOP compliance.

Requirements of the Job

In this job you will:

• Keep abreast of competitor activity, industry and retail sector/technical issues
• Ensure that all suppliers comply with the relevant standards and legislation
• Manage supplier and customer relationships and ensure compliance to GSCOP
• Develop, manage and maintain the clear reporting  structure to all customers and stakeholder
• Conduct supplier audits, deliver audit reports and manage supplier communications
• Lead, develop and motivate the suppliers to improve performance
• Conduct risk assessment, escalate as appropriate and advise of suggested action
• Lead the manufacturing supplier audit plan in conjunction with the audit provider
• Manage and maintain the online supplier management system
• Manufacturing Supplier performance management against a risk-based framework, through a Supplier Score Card and top manufacturing supplier reviews
• Develop, manage and maintain the non conformance escalation and close out process, including derogations
• Build strong relationships with the senior manufacturing team to share the vision for food safety and develop strong working relationships that encourage sharing and cross functional working
• Manage executive and business management reports
• Manage travel arrangements and documents inclusive of international travel

You will need a degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Food Technology or a closely related discipline with a lead Assessor Qualification and/or experience of auditing food manufacturing sites and recognised HACCP Qualification to advanced level. You’ll also need In-depth knowledge and understanding of food manufacturing processes and the required food safety controls to ensure our sites produce safe products for our customers.
