About the job
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the development teams have the right level of detail to deliver accurately and efficiently. It will be essential to understand the product, processes and customers to be able to clearly articulate what needs to be delivered. Working with the Product teams, technology and third parties to capture and translate ideas into clear specifications – challenging and providing input product design.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for ensuring that the prioritized changes are clearly understood and defined
- Provide advice on best solution through knowledge, research and liaising with subject matter experts
- Refine backlog such that it can be prioritised and user stories/requirements are in a ready state for development
- Ensure that delivery teams, internal and external, are provided with user stories/requirements and scope in timely manner.
- Work within a sprint team as product owner with confidence and knowledge to deliver good decisions for efficient delivery
- Ensure that tests are aligned to expected business outcomes
- Coordinate best use of resource or time using Agile or Waterfall processes
Skills we’d like you to have for this role:
- Strong commercial and customer focus
- Experience in a fin-tech environment gathering and defining product and feature definitions
- Excellent communication skills; high standard of written and spoken English and the ability to understand and explain functionality lucidly to non-specialists
- Deep understanding on development lifecycle and experience of different delivery methodologies
- Strong facilitation and workshop skills to drive clear product definitions
- Evidence of delivering major technical changes in a large organisation or fast moving start up
- Ability to write user stories and business requirements in a format that can be interpreted by business stakeholders and technical teams
- Advanced knowledge of process flow charting tools like Visio
- Agile certification
