Students needed for tutoring children ages 5 to 16 in Thamesmead and Woolwich. Good grades in Maths, English and Sciences required at GCSE and A-Level.
This job is ideal for students looking for casual work on Saturdays.
There are currently 4 Joy Learning tutoring centres. Tutors may be requested to work in any of the four centres depending on demand. Tutors can choose to work in 1 or 2 centres each Saturday.

Tutors are offered work each Saturday from any of the four centres depending on demand. Tutors will be required to provide 2 weeks notice for any planned absences from a centre. This ensures there is enough time to sort out cover for the absence. Tutors may be offered work with very short notice to meet demand as and when needed. Tutors reserve the right to decline work when offered, however prolonged or frequent absences will result in fewer or no work being offered in future.
The following is expected from each tutor: i. Arrive 5-10 minutes before the start time to help with set up ii. Keep a notebook or a dated record each Saturday detailing the names of all students you supported, how many hours they attended (1 or 2), what they were working on and what their homework is. iii. Ensure assigned students are on task and challenged throughout the session. iv. Ensure work is being checked/marked for mistakes using a red pen. v. Provide feedback as required for each student via the Joy Learning website. vi. Set homework for the student and mark the previous week's homework vii. Ensure a safe and engaging learning environment for each student viii. Report to the centre manager if there are any concerns.
