Students needed for tutoring children ages 5 to 16 in Thamesmead and Woolwich. Good grades in Maths, English and Sciences required at GCSE and A-Level.

Job Details:
There are currently 4 Joy Learning tutoring centres. Tutors may be requested to work in any of the four centres depending on demand. Tutors can choose to work in 1 or 2 centres each Saturday.
Centres
i. Thamesmead - 10am to 12pm - SE28 8AT
ii. Plumstead - 10am to 12pm - SE18 1QF
iii. Woolwich - 1pm to 3pm - SE18 5QL
iv. Kidbrooke - 1pm to 3pm - SE3 9PX
Tutors are offered work each Saturday from any of the four centres depending on demand. Tutors will be required to provide 2 weeks notice for any planned absences from a centre. This ensures there is enough time to sort out cover for the absence. Tutors may be offered work with very short notice to meet demand as and when needed. Tutors reserve the right to decline work when offered, however prolonged or frequent absences will result in fewer or no work being offered in future.
The following is expected from each tutor: i. Arrive 5-10 minutes before the start time to help with set up ii. Keep a notebook or a dated record each Saturday detailing the names of all students you supported, how many hours they attended (1 or 2), what they were working on and what their homework is. iii. Ensure assigned students are on task and challenged throughout the session. iv. Ensure work is being checked/marked for mistakes using a red pen. v. Provide feedback as required for each student via the Joy Learning website. vi. Set homework for the student and mark the previous week's homework vii. Ensure a safe and engaging learning environment for each student viii. Report to the centre manager if there are any concerns.

Salary: £8.00 /hour
Work Experience:
Previous tutoring experience desirable but not required.
Education:
A* to B in GCSE mathematics, science or English
Currently studying for or achieved good A-Levels in mathematics, sciences or english (similar courses/qualifications considered)
Skills:
Can work well with children to encourage them.
Can be punctual and manage time well during the lesson.
Can communicate effectively with children, team members and customers.
