Content Writer in Birmingham

We are an exciting and progressive start-up magazine company. Our ethos is “Throwing down the gauntlet, inspiring individual thought, stretching the constraints of traditional media.” Would you like to be involved in a new project? Would you like creative control over your writing? Does the thought of writing on controversial issues excite you? Are you interested in having your own column? If the answer is yes, keep reading! We are looking for a passionate and talented team of content writers to join our magazine! Previous writing experience is not essential. If you’ve written for a website or publication before that is a bonus, if not then carpe diem!

What are you going to do:


We have a range of roles available:


Arts Content Writer(s) – A section focused on reviewing various artistic pieces across multiple platforms (not limited to but including TV & Film, Music, Literature, and Art.)

Science, Health & technology Content Writer(s) – A section surrounding scientific news, academia and common misconceptions in areas such as (but not limited to): wildlife, technology, geography, pharmaceuticals, food, health, and holistic health.

Lifestyle Content Writer(s) – A section of sports, fashion, sex & relationships, and everything in-between.

Sociological Content Writer(s) – A broad and wide-ranging section investigating and challenging society and prominent societal norms, issues and ways of thinking.

What you may be up to (expectations)

  • Content research and creation – researching and writing articles for the magazine, website and social media platforms.
  • Help generate ideas for articles.
  • Social media marketing – helping create and manage the company's social media presence.
  • Opportunity for editorial responsibilities – e.g. checking writers' copy for accuracy, style, and fluency.

What we ask:

  • A-Level or equivalent
  • If you’ve written for a website or publication before that is a bonus, if not then carpe diem!
  • English GCSE or equivalent.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Love of detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent ability to manage time.
  • Capability to self-motivate.
