What are you going to do

Part time opportunities available in Loughborough and surrounding villages. Tutor Doctor provides personalised in-home-one-on-one tuition
services to local school students and families.

Tutor Doctor takes the time to assess students' needs very carefully, in order to match them with a suitable tutor. As that tutor, you will be working with individual students, at their homes (always with a parent or guardian present), helping them with their educational challenges - these could include preparing for exams, improving their attainment in a particular subject, catching up with missed areas of the curriculum, or generally re-igniting their enjoyment of learning.

Sessions are typically 60-90 minutes long, and we ask you to submit a short session report after each lesson, that we review and share with parents.

What we ask:

  • Strong A - level grades and you must be at least 2nd year undergraduate level
  • Some tutoring/coaching or mentoring experience is desirable
  • We look for strong A - level grades, and you must be at least a second year undergraduate in your chosen subject.
  • We want you to have excellent subject matter knowledge, be flexible and easy to connect with, have great communication skills, be able to travel up to 20 minutes to our clients' homes, and most of all to be passionate about education and making a real difference in a young person's life.

If you already have coaching, tutoring or mentoring experience, that would be an advantage, but we also want to hear from people who have never previously considered tutoring, and feel they could be well suited to it - if you enjoy helping people that's a good start.

You will be a self-employed contractor, paid an hourly rate for each individual tutoring assignment.

The work is part time and flexible.
