Journalism/Social Media Marketing Intern for London Start-Up

Journalism, Content and Social Media Champion required by rapidly expanding start-up. Write and publish stories for the national food press, websites, blogs, and daily social media content. Would suit aspiring journalists and social media managers.

1 - 15 hours per week
Between £10.00 and £13.00 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

A varied role and ideal for an intern or recent graduate to get their teeth stuck into and own a division of a top new venture. We would like you to;

  • Write 'food news' articles that engage the public and restaurant industry
  • Kickstart and champion the company
    food blog
  • Visit restaurants to conduct interviews and sample dishes
  • Photograph dishes and catalogue for future use
  • Write for and update the organisation's social media pages
  • Help write email newsletters
  • Devise and produce proactive media campaigns
  • Assist in building relationships with bloggers and press contacts
  • Document the organisation's story from start-up to stardom
  • Update client database as appropriate
  • Assist with other tasks to help DishRatings Management

What you will get from working with DishRatings is the ability to genuinely shape a new business with significant funding and you'll play an important part in it's development.

You will have freedom to interview restauranteurs and foodies to write interesting articles that should be read by thousdands of people.

You can use your creativity to present an array of content and drive new readers to the social media pages.

What we ask:

  • In possession of or currently studying for a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent)
  • Previous work within hospitality is preferable but not essential
  • Essential Information

    Location;
    Mostly in and around London.

    Dates;
    Start date can be flexible but ideally in or before the first week of
    January.The current plan is for the
    blog to go live in January and the full app to launch in March.

    Duration;
    As a part time worker you'll be expected to be available for at least 6-8
    hours per week, for around 6 months. Rates of pay will be agreed before
    the start of the internship and there may be an opportunity to lead to
    full time employment.

    Travel;
    Must be able to travel independently across London and may involve some evening
    and weekend work

    Right to work;

    Must be eligible to work in the UK

Who we are looking for

The role would suit a dynamic individual with an interest in food and ability to work remotely/from home. Expressing a creative flare, the candidate would ideally be extremely social media savvy and have experience writing blogs, press articles and newsletters with excellent written communication skills. Working with minimal supervision this would be a golden opportunity for a confident and self-motivated candidate to expand their skills away from a computer screen as well as online.
