Reporting to the Senior Planning Manager you will be responsible for developing, managing and maintaining the events and activity plan for Logistics which will enable the logistics distribution centres to run efficiently, through strong Logistics planning and forecasting.
You will work with stakeholders to make sure the plan is up to date and includes key event planning from a Logistics perspective, managing any risks and issues, escalating should there be a change to the plan.
Here at Morrisons our Planning Specialists do the following;
Deliver the logistics events and activity plan to sites with a 6 month forward view of activity to ensure efficient running of our operations.
Lead the review of activity on the plan to ensure strong customer focus and understand impact on capacity in the logistics labour model
Communicate the plan effectively, efficiently and consistently to logistics and stakeholders, providing support/guidance in relation to all queries and escalations, ensuring that all queries are seen through to completion and are documented accordingly
Plan governance to events and activities for all of the logistics division to ensure logistics have a 6 month view of expected delivery
Continually review the plan for risks, issues, changes, implications on stores and into lessons learnt
Utilise the plan to manage resource effectively and efficiently ensuring the business is maximising its payroll
Strong experience in Logistics planning
Strong experience using Excel with complex formulas
Detailed and in depth knowledge of Logistics policies, procedures and ways of working
A strong track record of understanding customers’ requirements and translating these into operational plans
Knowledge of forecasting and labour planning models
Strong knowledge of a Logistics / Retail operating model
Experience across a variety of logistics operational disciplines including transport and warehouse
