The Role
Are you a Transport/Logistics Professional looking for a new exciting opportunity with a leading global company? We have an amazing opportunity for the right individual to join us and shape the future of L’Oréal UKI Transport Operations.
You will have full responsibility to evolve and deliver the 3-5 year transport strategy for the UKI, working alongside some of the most passionate, hardworking and enthusiastic talent in the UKI to deliver outstanding service to our customers & stakeholders. We’re looking for you to fully utilise your knowledge of the industry trends, supplier engagement & import/export legislation to really guide and influence the teams across the business at all levels. This role is based at Trafford Park, Manchester but is by no means static; you’ll be expected to regularly travel between our offices in Manchester, Bury, Nottingham, Dublin & Hammersmith along with various customer & Supplier locations throughout the UK & Ireland also with occasional wider International travel.
Key elements of your role:
Shape a robust transport plan that has the capacity and flexibility to meet the constantly evolving needs of our business.
Strategically select and lead the suppliers for our Carrier/3PL network to ensure SLAs, Safety & Operational KPIs are meaningful, challenged and continuously improved.
Take the lead for L’Oréal UKI on all Import/Export legislation & compliance certification.
Control the carriage budget, identifying opportunities to improve cost to serve and fixing ambitious targets with clear action plans to deliver them.
Directly manage the Transport Administration team ensuring all legal documents, transport regulations, freight charge tracking and payments are made correctly.
Represent the UKI transport function at a L’Oréal European level, sharing best practice with other countries and positioning the UKI team as best in class within the group.
Who we are looking for
You’ve built 5+ years of strong experience leading Transport, Import/Export functions for an FMCG company or similar operation either in house or with a 3PL.
Experienced in managing Import/Export legislation compliance, Transport regulations & certification.
Influencing others comes as second nature, you’ll have the ability to clearly display a vision and strategy of where you want to go and take both your team and stakeholders along with you.
Passionate about supplier management, you’ll have negotiated contracts with suppliers and managed stakeholders at all levels and be at ease putting complex KPI’s and Numbers into meaningful simple terms.
Strong networker, proactively seeking out experience and knowledge you’ll have a proven ability to leverage your connections and relationships to help you achieve your goals.
