About The Role

We’ve got an opportunity for a Technology Project Manager to join our Wholesale team within Technology, based in Bradford. 

You will lead the Project Management of IT projects aligned to a significant business change initiative / programme. At any time, managing either one large/complex initiative or a range of smaller projects (Projects may be large in scope, spanning multiple business areas and involving large project teams of c.25-30, Associated project / portfolio budgets fall between £1m and £20m); Impact of IT projects (successful or unsuccessful) is significant and affects shareholder value and employee engagement.

Here at Morrisons our Project Managers do the following;

  • Co-ordinate end user requirements into project deliverables

  • Regularly communicate updates (message to be tailored to audience)

  • Provide clear direction to project teams

  • Structure project governance and environments to ensure colleagues are able to maximise their contributions

  • Safeguard BAU operations from adverse impact from project delivery

  • Ensure projects delivers benefits within time & budget constraints

  • Co-ordinate dependencies and assumptions between projects to ensure no detrimental impact to other projects while ensuring the successful delivery of own project

About You

What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful Project Manager?

  • Track record of delivering IT projects within a Wholesale, Logistics or Supply chain environment

  • Experience of working with a range of project management methodologies (Prince2, APM, Agile qualifications would be advantageous)

  • Skilled in working within matrix structures and leading others

  • Experience of managing using offshore delivery models is advantageous

  • A track record in building and leveraging strong business and stakeholder relationships; able to manage conflicting views and requirements to achieve win win outcomes

  • Successful achievement of results whilst working under pressure; a tenacious approach and ability to maintain a positive attitude
