Revenue Management Analyst

The Role

We have an opportunity for a Revenue Management Analyst who will be responsible for commercial performance and optimising yield of Thomas Cook products for designated areas of geographical responsibility. To support the Revenue Manager in identifying and maximising revenue and margin opportunities, coaching/mentoring new and existing staff and deputising competently where necessary.

 

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

The role has responsibility in Optimisation of Yield for specified gateways using product, price, inventory, promotion and cost levers to achieve/exceed desired business volume, contribution, market share, load factor targets and commitment utilisation.

Further aspects of the role are to support the Revenue Manager to drive commercial performance of product, purchasing and overseas teams to ensure we have the right product at the right price to meet customer and commercial needs whilst maximising trading margin and budgeted profit, highlighting opportunities and risks to financial plan.

Analysis of market and competitors to drive commercial and product related actions whilst building and sustaining strong relationships and communications with stakeholders across all areas of the tour operating and distribution businesses to achieve shared goals and challenging business targets are also key aspects along with the below:

 

  • Communicate regional trading performance to key counterparts and senior management to ensure targeted promotions and commercial actions to drive results
  • Work autonomously, taking responsibility for making decisions using experience and initiative in accordance with the Thomas Cook ways of working (WOWs)
  • Ensure long term profitability through responding effectively to customer demand and changes in the travel market

 

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate needs to have a strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of performance in a commercial or analytical environment and be a problem solver and logical thinker with exceptional analytical skills.

Strong communication skills and being skilled in Excel or working with Access or similar database tools are also a requirement of the role along with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills and being a confident decision maker being self-motivated with a desire to succeed.

Experience of Revenue Management Systems Theory and application would be an advantage along with experience in the travel industry, through tour operations, retail/sales or airline in revenue management, commercial or financial role.
