Merchandising Planner - Impulse in Bradford

We’ve created a new role for a Merchandising Planner in our Grocery Trading Team based at our support centre in Bradford. You’ll be working with the Head of Trading and Senior Buying Manager and will manage the delivery and sales for seasonal events. The role involves a lot of data analysis, decision making and stakeholder engagement so you’ll need to be confident and able to challenge and provide rationalised recommendations.

What will you do in the role of a Merchandising Planner in the grocery team at Morrisons?

• Be accountable for the sales of £130m of sales across 600 products

• Maximise profitability of all seasonal events

• Manage our key suppliers, own brand and branded suppliers

• Use data to understand what the customer wants so we can give them the right products at the right time, understanding trends and forecasting demand

• Manage all inbound stock movement for the department

What skills/experience do you need to be a success in this role?

• You’ll need to be analytical, any experience working with sales data & external data sources (Kantar / Nielson) would be an advantage

• Being able to use the data findings and present to stakeholders in a way that not only provides recommendations but also creates a vision and influences decisions is key

• Clear communication and confidence is necessary, alongside the Head of Trading, you’ll be making key decisions to maximise trade

• Experience of delivering under pressure

You might be a merchandising planner already or you might be in a different function with a transferable skillset. A trading background isn’t essential, you might be in finance, trade planning or a supplier. As long as you can demonstrate how you could do the role we are open to considering a variety of backgrounds.
