Brake is seeking three education officers to join its community engagement team at our head office in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. This is an exciting, fast paced role, giving you the chance to develop experience in three key areas; project organisation, marketing, and fundraising.
Brake's community engagement team reaches out to communities and educators to raise awareness about Brake's work and deepen knowledge about road safety. It does this through various projects for schools, including Brake's Kids Walk. The project aims to get thousands of primary school children to take part in at least a 500m walk to promote road safety and the health and planet-saving benefits of walking. We provide schools with free resources to use on the day, but the event is also a crucial fundraiser for Brake, with schools encouraged to raise money through various activities.
As an education officer, you will work for Brake's community engagement manger to ensure delivery of key community engagement projects included but not limited to Brake's Kids Walk, distribution of resources to primary schools and Beep Beep! days. You will do this by:

Introduction to our cause
Road crashes, air pollution and emissions from road traffic are preventable, global catastrophes that must be stopped, and the solutions are within grasp. Brake, the road safety charity, fights for a world with safe, green, healthy and fair transport. We research and advocate for change at
government level and, through our community projects, inspire, inform and engage people and organisations to join us on our campaign.
In the UK, an average of five people die in road crashes every single day, with ten times as many seriously injured. Being suddenly and violently bereaved or suffering life-changing injuries from a road crash is traumatic and devastating but we exist to help.
We tirelessly work with communities and organisations to stop the tragedy of road deaths and injuries, as well as support people bereaved
and seriously injured. We operate from Huddersfield in the UK and run global services and projects with our office in New Zealand.
