As a Supply Chain Apprentice, you will provide business support to the various functions within the specific department (logistic, demand planning, customer order desk), whilst gaining knowledge of how the supply chain function operates, within a fast-paced lighting technology company. Your responsibilities

  • Personal development.
  • To support management, field staff and internal and external customers in achieving their objectives.
  • To raise and process purchase orders for shipment and communicate information to all relevant parties.
  • Liaise and advise internally on lead times for project materials to ensure scheduled deliveries are accurate and in line with customer expectations.
  • Ensure Philips high quality of customer service is achieved through ownership and follow through to resolution of any customer complaints.
  • Monitor, resolve and process, overdue purchase orders, unconfirmed purchase orders, workflow – ensuring SAP inbox is clear of invoice queries in a timely manner.
  • Arrange and monitor all direct deliveries proposals in accordance to the procedures to ensure the requests are processed correctly.
  • Support Retail segment as first line support coordination for queries and quotations
  • Prepare weekly, bi-weekly stock reports for key accounts.
  • Monitor stock levels, trends & ensure that risk of obsolescence & failure of service towards customers is minimized within targets outlined.

We are offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity, within our Professional Supply Chain segment, for 2 years, based in our Guildford office.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • no work experience required
  • Solid IT skills including Microsoft Office, in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Technically-minded
  • Fast learner and reliable
  • Passion for enhancing their own business and commercial knowledge and skills
  • Excellent communicator and negotiation skills
  • Ability to use numbers for various calculations and pricing
  • Proactive approach
  • Able to stay calm in a challenging environment
  • Focused on winning business
  • Between the age of 16 plus
  • Satisfactory GCSE attainment (English and Maths included)
  • Resident in England
  • Seeking full-time employment
  • Not completed a first university degree
