About The Role

We’ve got a fantastic job for a Reliability Engineer to join our Rathbones bakery site. Reporting to the Site Manager - Engineering, will use both your in-depth technical engineering knowledge and leadership skills to become the driving force behind a structured & methodical reliability centred improvement programme across the whole site – directly driving the full Asset Care programme and front line colleague involvement.

This is a days role working a shift pattern of 5 over 7, up to 48 hours per week.

Requirements of the Job

As a Reliability Engineer, you’ll work as a respected peer alongside Department & Shift Managers within both Production & Engineering. You will proactively define & lead reliability projects, based on analysis of top loss events that improve asset operation, design and maintenance and develop, coach, mentor & influence the full Engineering Team in implementing asset reliability improvement, tracking scorecard benefits. You will drive a structured approach to developing new maintenance plans, using FMECA, for assets of highest business criticality as well as drive practical Asset Care activities with front line production colleagues to foster a culture of asset ownership and increased performance.

About You

You’ll need to be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering) with a proven track record in an engineering and fault finding role gained from a FMCG environment (ideally the food industry). You’ll also have a good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations would be advantageous. You will also need Strong knowledge of improvement techniques and approaches that drive reliability / cost.

About our Rathbones Bakery Site

Our current production at Rathbones contains 6 plants but this will soon to rise to 8 plants. We currently produce 1,200,000 sliced loaves, 1,000,000 baguettes, 2,000,000 rolls, 600,000 muffins per week!!  We have just opened our Naan and Pitta Line. The new plant will house our Crumpet and Pancake line! We have over approx 40SKUs and we are the only bakery in the Morrisons family.
