Post Graduate Diplomas @ Ulster University

PwC Sponsor two post graduate courses @ Ulster University:
  • MSc Advanced Accounting -
This popular vocational programme is designed to meet the needs of accounting graduates who wish to pursue a career as an Irish Chartered Accountant. It is an academically challenging programme which attracts high calibre accounting graduates. It allows students to combine a postgraduate master's qualification with study for professional examinations. This course provides full CAP 2 exemptions.

The course aims to enhance students' understanding of technical, conceptual and theoretical underpinnings in relevant areas of accounting; to enable them to apply the associated techniques in the preparation of accounting for internal/ external reporting and decision making.

Entry Criteria:

Entrants must possess a second class Honours degree (currently 2.1) in an accounting discipline and must also be exempt from all CAP 1 subjects of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

  • Graduate Diploma in Accounting -

A fast track conversion qualification for graduates with non-accounting degrees who want to pursue a career in accounting.

The course aims to enhance students' understanding of technical, conceptual and theoretical underpinnings in relevant areas of accounting; to enable them to apply the associated techniques in the preparation of accounting for internal/ external reporting and decision making.

The course provides a programme of study in accounting and accounting-related modules which enable graduates with non-accounting degrees to obtain a general introduction to the subject, and then to specialise in particular areas of accounting suited to the career path of each student.

Suitable choices of modules taken will lead to exemption from the nine fundamental examinations of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; all of the Certificate and P1 and P7 Managerial level examinations of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, or the CA Proficiency 1 (CAP1) examinations of the Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Entry Criteria

A 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in a non-relevant discipline
