Job Purpose: Responsible for providing support, IT service and for managing the performance & utilisation of MRO & Airline Ops including other related IT activities. Capable of demonstrating strong communication & project management skills, you will join the Airline MRO & Ops team in ensuring solutions are aligned with IT best practice, IS strategy & objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage & co-ordinate IT end-user-computing tasks, small change, Incidents & BAU activities on behalf of the Business acting as a single point of contact.
  • Management, support & administration of MRO & Airline Ops systems within an IT context, achieving optimum performance & system utilisation for end users/customers.
  • The ability to work with 3rd party service providers, Vendors, IT & Business project managers, Business Analysts, Architects, software developers & Stakeholders to implement IT solutions on behalf of the local & Group Airline business.
  • Conduct rigorous requirements gathering & analysis from Business & Vendors that translate to acceptable IT solutions. Complete full supportive documentation.
  • Accountable for delivery – achieving IT project workstream targets to scope, timeline, quality, budget & technical solution
  • Act as IT subject matter expert (SME) between the Airline Business & Group Airline IT
  • Work collaboratively with Group Airline IT colleagues to deliver Group & Local Airline projects
  • Supports the Business with UAT assistance & conducts IT system application training as required.

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • Daily BAU support provided to the Airline Business area users of key IT systems
  •  Delivery of IT project workstream activities
  • Support Group Airline IT strategic goals (MAL, systems roadmap) 

 

Capabilities Profile – technical skills/knowledge, experience & track record.

Must have:

  • 3 years IT system administration/IT service management/ system engineer experience or equivalent
  • Excellent E2E understanding of Aircraft Maintenance & Operational Airline business & related IT systems e.g. AMOS, ETL, AirbusWorld, Boeing Toolbox, Netline, SABRE, Jeppesen
  • Evidence of strong IT technical skills, background & SQL language proficiency & to be able to clearly articulate technical issues into business language to IT
  • Can demonstrate excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Enthusiastic & motivated self-learner
  • Demonstrates flexibility in approach to work.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of Windows/Unix administration
  • XML & related technologies – XLST, XSD
  • SGML & related technology – eg DTD
  • Project management and/or Business analysis skills
  • Understanding of software & hardware architectural patterns

General understanding & awareness of Information Security 

 

Qualifications, Training, Professional Memberships or Accreditations

  • IT Systems knowledge – AMOS, Boeing and/or Airbus, ETL, Ops
  • SQL – general
  • XML related technologies
  • MS Office skills – in-depth/advanced knowledge
  • Project management/Business analytical skills or equiv competence – eg Prince, ISEB
