Role: IT Project & Application Manager

 

Location: Manchester

 

Working Hours: 37.5

 

Job Purpose: Responsible for providing support and for managing the performance & utilisation of Aircraft Maintenance Applications including other related IT activities (e.g. interfaces). Capable of demonstrating strong communication & management skills, you will join the Airline technical IT teams in ensuring solutions are aligned with IT best practice, IT strategy & objectives.

  

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Management & support of Aircraft Maintenance applications, achieving optimum performance & system utilisation
  • The ability to work with 3rd party service providers, IT & Business project managers, Business Analysts, Architects, software developers & Stakeholders to implement IT solutions on behalf of the local & group Airline business
  • Conduct rigorous requirements gathering & analysis from Business & Vendors that translate to acceptable IT solutions
  • Accountable for delivery – achieving project work-stream targets to scope, timeline, quality, budget & technical solution
  • Act as IT subject matter expert (SME) between the Airline Business & IT
  • Work collaboratively with Group Airline IT colleagues to deliver Group & Local Airline projects

 

Key Performance Indicators

 

  • Delivery of IT projects & solutions to agreed requirements, specification, timelines & quality
  • IT point of reference for the Airline Business
  • Management & support of Aircraft Maintenance application for the Airline business

 

Capabilities Profile – technical skills/knowledge, experience & track record.

 

Must have:

 

  • 3 years IT system administration/system engineer experience or equivalent
  • Excellent Project management skills
  • Evidence of strong IT technical skills, background & SQL language proficiency & to be able to clearly articulate technical issues into business language to IT
  • Can demonstrate excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Enthusiastic & motivated self-learner
  • Demonstrates flexibility in approach to work.

 

Preferred:

  • Excellent E2E understanding of Aircraft Maintenance business & related IT systems. E.G - ETL, Airbus World, Boeing Toolbox etc.
  • 3 years AMOS administration experience or equivalent
  • XML, SGML, SQL & related technologies
  • Understanding of software & hardware architectural patterns

 

Qualifications, Training, Professional Memberships or Accreditations

 

  • ITIL V3 knowledge
  • MS Office skills
  • Understanding of Windows/Unix administration
