We are looking for an internship costumed watercolour artist to work within the grounds of the Abbey. Comfortable wearing costume of an Edwardian Lady. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of customer service experience as this role will also require engagement with our visitors.
We are offering a part-time seasonal role during June, July, August, and the beginning of September 2018 for three days each week. Hours will vary and will include some weekend working.
To paint landscapes of the abbey in watercolour, wearing Edwardian-style dress, hat, and brooch showing support for the suffragist movement, whilst engaging with visitors. To hold a small watercolour class and exhibit work towards the end of the period.
For any queries concerning the role being for an Edwardian Lady and not a gentleman - this is because we are asking the 'Lady' to wear a brooch to show support of the Suffragist Movement, whilst outwardly being a high status woman conforming to the social norms of the period. This is particularly important as this year is the centenary of women being given the vote, although not yet all women.
