Psychology Students Wanted to Work on our Programme for my autistic son in North West London

Facilitators come to the house for sessions of 2.5 hours two or three times a week, to work with our autistic son. There is training, feedback and support given by me, on a daily basis, and a trained supervisor when needed. It is essential to have energy and enthusiasm, and useful to have an interest in the autistic condition. It is important to be non-judgemental and share anything that may concern you. The programme is monitored by both Kensington & Chelsea local authority and MENCAP, who are responsible for salaries. The pay is £15 per hour. Excellent English is essential as the therapy includes teaching language.

What are you going to do

The therapy takes place in a room with the autistic child. I will be there to discuss your plans for the session. There is a CCTV camera so that the session can be monitored and you can see what was happening and how the child was reacting. I will also provide the materials.
