Data Science Internship in London

What are you going to do:

9 month Data Science & Analytics Internships starting July 2018 working within our friendly and fun team based at our office in Holborn, London.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a paid placement role for 9 months. Working alongside other interns and with the support and guidance of Data Science professionals within Elevate, the intern role will be assigned responsibility for project work, which will enable you to apply knowledge gained from your course, to a customer-oriented problem, in a practical work-based setting.

The successful candidate will also gain invaluable exposure to and experience across other disciplines and functions within our successful FinTech organization.

A key objective of the internship role is to link the power of data back to relatable solutions, actionable outcomes and business decisions. Core responsibilities of the role are to bring insights and analytics to support and/or predict patterns of consumer behaviour to service our customers better. You can make a material impact on our business over the course of your placement.

Experience

• Experience with data, visualization, software tools and modelling techniques including knowledge of Data Mining techniques such as
• Linear Regression, Random Forest and SVM.
• SAS/SQL programming hands-on experience with
• Experience of manipulating complex datasets and a working knowledge of how data should be used and ingested.
• Experience/knowledge of Data Science tools such as
• R, Python, SQL, Java, Hive and SPARK
• Experience report writing, presentation and documentation skills

Key Skills/Qualities:

• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with ever-changing demands and to be able to contribute to multiple projects at one time.
• Good communication skills across multiple disciplines and levels of the organization
• Ability to present findings and make recommendations to Analytics team, Execs and business leaders.
• A demonstrable passion for working in the field of data science having taken on a number personal projects outside of academic study.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Flexibility and an open mind when approaching a problem
