New Product Development (NPD) Specialist - Meat in Bradford

We’ve got a fantastic job for a New Product Development Specialist – Meat to join our Woodheads manufacturing site at Colne. You will be working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week based in the Colne site but this role is a field role as we will need you to regularly travel to the other Manufacturing sites at Spalding, Winsford, Deeside & Bradford Farmers Boy aswell as the Head Office in Bradford. There will also be less frequent visits to Worsley, Grimsby & Turriff.

Requirements of the Job

In this job role the successful candidate will support all product development that have meat as a component. This is a unique role where you will support other Product Development Specialists & Managers deliver new products for their sites & categories. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure we get the right cuts, cures & smokes on our meat raw materials to hit the brief for a finished product.  You will be dealing with the 3 sites in Woodheads & up to 5 manufacturing sites across meat, cooked meats, pies & pastries, fish & prepared vegetables.  This is a crucial part of our development process so strong communication skills & good project management skills are vital to keep all projects on track & ensure all documentation is completed accurately.

You will support the NPD Teams at other sites to deliver to their briefs for new product development & existing product improvements as well as Regularly communicate & update the key stakeholders on all projects involving the Woodheads sites. You’ll ensure all tasks are completed by all functions at Woodheads to keep all products in line with the critical paths and work with suppliers on new raw materials, new processes & complete paperwork. You will also complete paperwork & get products ready for sample submissions & brand panels and co-ordinate any Woodhead Factory Trials & attend key trials at the manufacturing sites making the finished product and sign off pre- production runs, first production runs & attend post launch reviews
