About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager - Health & Safety - Logistics

To support the Head of Group Health and Safety to uphold the health & safety and legality of our Brand, ensuring continuous improvement and implementing best practice to keep colleagues & customers safe. Working with internal and external stakeholders  to meet these objectives and drive improvements in health and safety compliance. The consequences of failure could result in customer or colleague death, unlimited fines, adverse publicity and serious damage to the brand.

 
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that health and safety and legality is at the forefront of all we do. Influence internal stakeholders engage with external stakeholders as required

Logistics
Retail & Operations
Estates Maintenance
Procurement
HR
Group Legal
Insurance

External:

Regulatory and enforcement agencies
Industry Specialists & Trade Bodies
 

This is a centrally based role and provides support to the head of Group Health & Safety in the development and maintenance of the Morrisons H&S Management System, together with associated collation and  manipulation of management information data. The role requires a mix of proactive and reactive activity and you will be responsible for Logistics Depots across the Group & Identified Group projects. This requires engagement at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.


About You

Knowledge Required:


•Degree in Health & Safety, a science or closely related subject

•NEBOSH diploma (desirable)

•Member of relevant professional organisation (IOSH) & undertaking CPD

•In-depth knowledge and understanding of the health & safety  management system

•In-depth knowledge and understanding of health & safety and related legislation and its requirements

•Auditing skills


Skills Required:


•Excellent and strong communication, engagement and motivational skills

•Excellent analytical skills and ability to produce management information in impactful ways

•Ability to coach to drive performance improvement

•The ability to  engage with colleagues at all levels to drive improvements

•Ability to influence business decisions that impact on health and safety and legality

•The ability to champion the customer and retain a customer focus whilst keeping health and  safety at the forefront

•Ability to identify risk and prioritise tasks

•Tenacity to follow up and resolve issues

•Analytical thinking


Experience Required:


•Minimum of 5 years experience in health & safety management

•Experience working in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders

Auditing experience
