Role: Business Development Manager

 

Location: Manchester

 

Working Hours: 37.5

 

Job Purpose: To Maintain, Develop and Source Incremental Business for Thomas Cook Airlines & Condor within the UK market. Building a clear and defined strategy to support the development of the Group Airline function. Working with our key commercial trade partners including Thomas Cook Retail and Thomas Cook Tour Operations.  The role will require the candidate to source new business based on changes in the market, managing relationships and delivering commercially within the role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plans based on competitor activities in the market place to support all the group airline function. An ability to react and share knowledge in the market is required.
  • Manage Key Accounts and Identify New Business to work with supporting new routes, increased flying programmes within all markets. To support develop business partner strategies reflective of the market and their business type/model
  • Negotiate commercial activity with Key Accounts/New Businesses - trading terms, tactical offers, incentives, marketing spend, payment terms, exclusive deals etc.)
  • Work alongside colleagues to ensure delivery of the Group Airline function including working with the Sales Support Function to ensure a high standard of delivery is being offered to all Business Partners within the UK market.
  • Deliver and roll out effective Product awareness sessions, Roadshows, Conferences, Webinars, Communications to the UK trade.
  • Deliver trade airport strategies supporting New and focus routes.

Must have:

  • Negotiation Skills and Presentation Skills to High Level
  • Commercial Skills and Insight
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the Travel Industry, with a flexible approach to working and ability to travel overseas
  • Ability to interpret and quickly react to financial data, and to identify commercial opportunities
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels within the industry/internally
  • Proactive and positive approach to identify commercial opportunities within the UK market
  • Clean Driving License

 

Preferred:

  • Working GDS Knowledge
  • Event Planning Experience
  • Excel, Powerpoint and Word knowledge
