Graduate Technology Financial Decisions and Analysis London 2019

Job description

Graduate programme
Our graduate training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You'll learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network, and throughout your career.

Technology
We recognise that to bring value to our clients, we need to provide the best advice around technological innovation. With us, you’ll be at the forefront of new initiatives and explore emerging technologies and trends to help businesses. Whether that’s helping clients understand how technology can help them unlock their potential and protect their businesses, or using big data to provide insight and help steer strategy.

Deals
We work on some of the most high profile deals in the market, across a wide range of clients and sectors. Financial Decisions and Analysis (FDnA) sits within the Transaction Services team in Deals, to support private equity firms, investment funds and corporate clients through mergers, acquisitions and disposals. We advise throughout the business life cycle, including pre-deal, during deal execution and post deal.

FDnA
FDnA is Deals’ Modelling and Analytics Centre of Excellence, one of PwC’s highest growth teams. We focus on the application of leading edge modelling and analytical techniques to help our clients make good decisions and solve problems.

We’re now looking to recruit a number of graduates to join our team to support our continued growth. We’re looking for people with a commercial mindset who can quickly get to the crux of business issues and can deliver commercial insight to our clients and enhance the Deal value through compelling analysis.

Every assignment is different, but we broadly define our offering under the key headings;

Deal Modelling - increasing confidence in the deal by developing operational, financial and LBO models or by providing independent model assurance for some of the largest transactions
Deal Analytics - providing quantitative insights in the deal process for example into, customer behaviours, sales and marketing effectiveness, costs to serve and product profitability
Post Deal - driving performance transparency (cash forecasting, strategic planning, and reporting) and value creation to support the investment thesis through a technology enabled approach to for example margin optimisation, strategic options analysis and operational effectiveness

What you’ll need to get in
If you’re naturally inquisitive, have an analytical mind and enjoy solving problems in a rigorous and logical manner, then this is the role for you. Within this role, you will be engaging directly with senior members of our clients, solving their business problems and helping them generate value.

To be considered you must have a minimum of a 2 1 degree in a technical, analytical or numerate based subject (e.g. Maths, Computational Sciences, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Accounting and Finance etc) and be able to evidence experience through academic study or work placements in one or more of the following competency areas

Data Analytics
Big Data
Data Modelling
Data Science

A postgraduate qualification in any of the above is desirable, but not essential.

You’ll need to be motivated and determined, with a passion for technology and new tools to analyse data and learn how to use this to provide insight and advice to our clients. You’ll also need to be flexible about where and how you work, with an ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under tight deadlines in time pressured environments.
