Role: Building Services Assistant (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

 

Location: Manchester Hangar & Line Station (Manchester Airport)

 

Working Hours: 37.5

 

Job Purpose: Provide support undertaking planned and also reactive maintenance work to ensure that all buildings and services are kept fully functional and maintained.

  

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Supporting office moves and basic construction of desks/cabinets/noticeboards.
  • Report any issues/incidents/breakdowns which require qualified repair or are causing a  hazard or risk of injury immediately and within Company procedure.
  • Assisting Building Maintenance Engineer.
  • Assist Motor Transport Team.
  • Working proactively with our Computer Aided Facilities Management System (CAFM)
  • Assisting IT Maintenance Team.
  • Be able to  operate within an industrial and office environment with understanding of colleagues operating in the work area in relation to safety/noise and disruption.

     

Key Performance Indicators

 

  • Open and completed calls on CAFM System.
  • Housekeeping, Furniture, Waste, Plant Rooms.

 

 

Capabilities Profile – technical skills/knowledge, experience & track record.

 

Must have:

  • Excellent DIY skills with ideally previous Facilities and/or Property Management experience.
  • Safety conscious and able to follow instructions and understanding of when works are specialised and require escalation (e.g to a qualified electrician or Gas Safe engineer)
  •  Electrical and Mechanical aptitude.
  •  Good communication skills.
  •  Good organisational skills.

 

Preferred:

  • Industrial Buildings experience
  • P.C literate, I.T  experience/Telephones/Networks
  • Waste management  experience.

     

Qualifications, Training, Professional Memberships or Accreditations

 

  • Full Driving Licence-preferably with zero penalty points
  • Criminal Record check.
