We have a great opportunity for a Senior Product Development Manager to be based at Hilmore House, our head office in West Yorkshire. Reporting into the Director for Own Brand, this role will lead a team of Product Developers across all food categories, shaping and delivering the overall brand & trading strategy through the development and implementation of Own Brand products.
Accountabilities for this role include:
Customer
Set the strategic direction for innovation; NPD across Morrisons.
Ensure that the business is up to date with relevant trends and that these are cascaded and plans created to implement where relevant.
Develop ways of working across the business for innovation.
Lead the development of products that adhere to Morrisons technical and nutritional policies.
Drive innovation and product development to deliver newness and incremental sales, inputting into strategic brand plans.
Approval of all new products for Own Brand food category.
Ensure all new products are developed to required quality standards and land on time as part of agreed activity.
Improve nutritional content of Own Brand products – delivering robust plans for salt, sugar & calorie reduction.
Colleague
Work collaboratively to ensure a total customer offer is developed across food and that duplication is removed.
Engage with trading category directors and senior buyers to drive own brand plan delivery across brand and trading plans.
Support internal / external PR of Own Brand.
Leadership of the team, ensuring key people processes delivered.
Ensure that the team are trained effectively with regards to product specifications, policies, standards required.
Operational
Ensure adherence to the Own Brand critical path.
Ensure adherence to all technical & nutritional policies.
Control and maintain integrity of all product documentation.
Ensure correct supplier capability for Own Brand products.
Sales, Profit and Cash
Deliver incremental sales with new products are launched.
Deliver to agreed margin targets while maintaining required product standards.

Experience
Practical experience of Product Development gained from either retail or manufacturing organisation
Ideally experience of technical & nutritional elements.
