Buyer - Music in Bradford

We’ve got a vacancy for a Buyer to work on our chart and DVD range,  based at our Head Office in Bradford on a 12 month FTC. This is a great opportunity for an existing Buyer looking for variation in their experience.

This is an important category and requires a weekly range change. You’ll have support from a Senior Buying manager and will look after your own suppliers, SKU’s, promo activity including Music/DVD promotions within the annual events, you’ll also have budget and P&L responsibility.

In the role you’ll do things like this;

• Propose what products to sell and how to source and promote them

• Give product expertise and support to stakeholders

• Work with others to manage stock availability, waste/shrink and markdowns

• Make sure products comply with company policy and legal requirements

• Negotiate with suppliers

• Drive on-line and new format sales

• Work with the buying manager to develop your 12 month plan

You’ll need skills and experience like this;

• Previous Buying experience

• You'll need to be able to work under pressure

• Experience of building strong relationships with suppliers

• Negotiation skills

• Experience of cross functional influencing

• Product knowledge

• Understanding of customer data and the market
