Research Intern for Festival in London

Jumpers for goalposts is a new, world-first concept for a festival for football culture taking place in london this summer. we're bringing together creators/consumers of football culture who are closest to the game as it is actually played, watched and consumed on a daily basis around this country (and the world!), and mainstream audiences who either aren’t aware of the breadth of modern football culture or have no way of accessing it easily. The role is for a research intern until aug 2019, ready to deeply investigate everything interesting in the world of football culture, while identifying where it fits in with what we do as an organisation and as part of the various activities for our festival.

10 - 25 hours per week
£0.00 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

What we're looking for is someone who can:

  • Identify football culture brands, creators, communities and news/trends, understand them well and share them internally with detailed write-ups
  • Support the creation of new social content across all platforms (primarily instagram, twitter, facebook, youtube and email/newsletters)
  • Connect and foster relationships with other (untapped) social media brands / influencers to feed into our event marketing/promotion, festival content/programming or business development streams

The broad requirements of the ideal intern:

  • Passion for football and particularly, football culture outside of mainstream channels
  • Experience researching and interviewing people and organisations, and writing with brevity, energy and focus
  • Understanding of how creators use social media and who our communities are
  • Attention to detail, good internal and external communication and consistency in work
  • Self-motivated and ability to demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm for the project
  • Willingness to learn and get involved in aspects of ideation, creation and delivery outside of one's comfort zone

I appreciate that the above is very much standard job description territory but it all needs stating nevertheless to be clear what this role is about. That said, this is a unique opportunity and we're looking for people who are desperately passionate about football culture, to be part of a team that is delivering something that's never been done before anywhere.

Fit with our ethos of showing, the gumption to solve hard problems and the desire to push the status quo to the next level is what we're ultimately looking for in any role here.

What we offer:

  • Festival tickets
  • Valuable experience
  • Potential full-time/part-time role post-summer
  • Free swag/merchandise

  • No minimum education required
