Tech Specialist - Solution Design in Bradford

We are recruiting for a technical specialist to join our Technology team at our support centre in Bradford on a full time, permanent basis.  The role suits a candidate with a strong development background looking to progress into a solution architecture role. You will work as part of the solution architecture team with mentoring and support from more experienced team members.  

In this role you’ll be effectively engaging with the business and facilitating IT and business change at a strategic and project level.  

In the role you’ll do things like this;
  

• Provide architecture, design and engagement expertise to support the technology strategy
    

• Work closely with other architects, internal IT teams and development partners
  
  

• Work within the agreed business engagement, enterprise architecture, delivery framework and governance to produce business technology strategy and roadmaps
    

• Provide detailed solution requirements and design and the translation of these into detailed functional designs and specification that balance the needs of the business, solution capability and delivery constraints (time, cost and quality)

You’ll need skills and experience like this;

• Experience designing applications, software, services at a component level, designing interfaces and API contracts

• A good understanding of design patterns, integration and an awareness of how product design impacts non-functional characteristics and business outcomes.

• Ability to communicate the design rationale and clearly document the design artefacts

• Ability to work independently with minimum guidance

• Experience working with Microservices/SOA architecture

• Solid skills and expertise in one or more of the following:  Java, JEE, Spring Framework, Python, Nodejs

• Experience with RESTful APIs & JSON, Swagger, API Management.

• Experience working with cloud platforms

• Agile development process experience is desirable
