We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Flowerworld manufacturing site in Derby. Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.
The job is working days 5 over 7 off shifts, Mon-Fri 0700-1600, Saturday 0600-1400.
Requirements of the Job
As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will work collaboratively within the engineering team, providing support in investigating means of improving plant productivity and also investigating and establishing causes for all breakdowns and damages. You’ll action any repairs and ensure that all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised and you will be involved in electrical and mechanical proactive and re-active maintenance.

You’ll need to be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering) with a proven track record in an engineering and fault finding role gained from a FMCG environment (ideally the food industry). You’ll also have a good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 17th edition wiring regulations would be advantageous.

FlowerWorld is unique to Morrisons manufacturing as it is our only non-food producing site.
With over 300 florists, each and every bouquet is treated with care and consideration before it leaves site ensuring the best possible quality to our customers. Not only that but we also use specialised techniques to first check how our flowers are going to develop through their life and then to keep them at their very best.
Here we make over 400,000 bouquets per week using both hand tying methods and machinery; during peak periods such as Valentines and Mothers Day this increases significantly.
