Buyer - Prepared Vegetables in Bradford

We’ve got a vacancy for a Buyer on prepared vegetables based at our Head Office in Bradford, this is an exciting role for someone looking to pursue a career in buying or an existing Buyer looking for variation in their experience.

You’ll have support from a Senior Buying manager and will look after your own suppliers, products and promotional activity, including ownership of key annual events. You’ll also have some budget and P&L responsibility.

In the role you’ll do things like this;

• Propose what products to sell and how to source, develop and promote them

• Give product expertise and support to stakeholders

• Work with others to manage stock availability, waste/shrink and markdowns

• Make sure products comply with company policy and legal requirements

• Negotiate with suppliers

• Work with the buying manager to develop your 12 month plan

You’ll need skills and experience like this;

• Previous Buying experience, ideally in a ‘fresh’ category

• You'll need to be able to work under pressure

• Experience of building strong relationships with suppliers

• Negotiation skills

• Experience of cross functional influencing

• Product knowledge - be passionate about product

• Understanding of customer data and the market

• Presentation skills
