About the role

Tesco Maintenance are currently looking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer for Refrigeration to join the National Operating Center in Milton Keynes. At Tesco, our stores and offices couldn’t function without the support of our Maintenance Team. A Service Support Engineer provides remote technical support to our field engineers Ensuring the business is able to continue to deliver its promise of serving Britain’s shoppers a little better every day.

You will be responsible for
  • Ensuring there is a safe environment for those who work and shop in our stores and offices.
  • Providing remote technical support for proactive diagnosis of maintenance problems to bring them to a permanent and timely solution.
  • Using the systems available to accurately identify trends and opportunities to improve maintenance operation.
  • Working in collaboration with colleagues to optimise resource and dispatch programs.
  • Building effective relationships and communicating clearly across different functions, managing expectations where necessary.
  • Ensuring assets are fixed to agreed time scales.
  • Meeting all my statutory requirements.
  • Managing workload to make the best use of time at work.
  • Being aware of the cost implications of actions.
You will need
  • City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas or equivalent
  • City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2, time served apprenticeship or equivalent in relevant field.
  • Strong mechanical and refrigeration knowledge.
  • Experience working in customer service
  • Experience working remotely
  • Good time management
  • The ability to build relationships quickly
  • Good communication skills
  • An awareness of cost and budget controls
  • Exposure to IT services e.g. Verisae
  • An awareness of up to date Health and Safety measures
  • Full UK driving licence

Ideal additional skills include:

  • Relevant qualifications e.g. IOSH/ NEBOSH
  • Experience handling multiple projects at one time or working in a fast moving maintenance department
  • Providing remote technical support
