About The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Data Protection Manager to join the Corporate Services Team at our Head office in Bradford.  The Data Protection Manager will provide support and subject matter expertise on GDPR and Data Protection compliance for Morrisons Group including Head Office, Manufacturing, Logistics and Retail business functions.  


The role will report to and work with the Data Protection Officer to support the ongoing design, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our data protection compliance, ensuring alignment to policy and best practice.  The role holder will be expected to:



  • Support the Data Protection Officer in ensuring Data Protection Impact Assessments are conducted for all relevant projects, working with the business to identify risks and mitigate against those risks to embed privacy by design in Morrisons culture


  • Manage standard contractual issues, escalating strategic or unusual issues to the Data Protection Officer


  • Monitor and review the business process inventory, engaging with senior stakeholders to ensure the inventory is accurate and up to date at all times

  • Manage individual rights requests processes, including subject access requests and requests for erasure, including liaising with external partners


  • Maintain trackers and producing reports on compliance, to identify trends internally and externally in data protection matters. Reviewing to ensure Morrisons is continually improving data protection procedures


  • Support the Data Protection Officer in the design and delivery of both overview and targeted training on data privacy


  • Act as a point of contact for internal Privacy Champions, supporting their training and development


  • Work with key stakeholders and colleagues to identify contingency strategies and recovery requirements for critical business activities, products and services in the event of a business interruption or crisis

About You

You will need to have the following Knowledge, Skills & Experience;


Knowledge


  • Maintained and current subject matter expertise of data protection legislation, including GDPR and PECR


Skills


  • Drive and passion to provide excellent customer service and support to all business stakeholders

  • Strong organisational, planning and project management skills, able to adjust to changing deadlines or priorities

  • Flexible self starter and able to multitask across a number of project streams and business areas

  • Strong IT skills including the use of Google Suite

  • A strong drive for excellence, quality and attention to detail

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - the role holder will be communicating with stakeholders internally and also data subjects directly

  • Strong influencing and engaging skills at all levels of management, ability to build trusted relationships

  • Proven problem solving skills and have a proactive approach to work

  • Competent in delivering presentations and training to small and medium audiences

  • Strong analytical skills, able to transfer and analyse business and technology requirements

  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team, including cross functional teams

  • Show flexibility and a willingness to embrace change

  • Proactive attitude and willingness to develop own skill set and knowledge through coaching, feedback, mentoring and on the job training


Experience


  • Experience in Data Protection, Compliance and/or Risk Management

  • Desirable - CIPP/E qualification or desire to work towards this

  • Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel
