Children's Enablers

Ceda are looking for people to support and engage children and young people with disabilities in our school holiday club at our centre in Exeter. We are looking for people to support children and young people to play and access activities and opportunities. Experience in working with children or with disabilities would be an advantage but most important is a commitment to inclusion. Ceda is a charity working with disabled children and young people aged 5-20. We have several positions available and so will be interviewing as applications come in. Applications are welcome from students aged 17 and above. There are volunteer opportunities for those aged 16.

7 - 30 hours per week
Between £8.58 and £9.00 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

  • To ensure children and young people are engaged and well cared for
  • To promote opportunities for children to play
  • To promote opportunities for children to make friends
  • To provide personal care and mealtime support to individuals in ways that keep them safe and well in line with their Care Plans and Risk Management Plans
  • To ensure that the person is treated at all times as an individual, recognising their right and capacity to make choices and their rights to individuality, dignity, respect, relationships and to enable the person to take on the responsibilities, with support where required, associated with these rights.
  • To attend meetings, KITs, appraisals and required training opportunities
  • To maintain effective communication with the Coordinators/manager at all times
  • Ensure you comply with the Health & Safety policy
  • Ensure that you have a good knowledge of CEDA's Safe Guarding Children and Young People policy and Safe Guarding Vulnerable Adults policy and that your working practice adheres to these policies at all times
  • To report any incidents/observations/concerns/allegations to the senior member of staff as specified in the Safe Guarding Children and Young People policy and the Safe Guarding Vulnerable Adults Policy.
  • Ensure that practice reflects a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-oppressive practice
