Computing/Technology Tutor in Summer

Do you love technology and/or programming and can communicate your skills with young people? We need you at our camps. There are also a limited number of future engineering/computer science internships that may also be available for top tutors who have demonstrated excellent skills at our camps.

40 hours per week
Between £400.00 and £500.00 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

You'll be working during the day to teach programming courses to young people at our summer camps. Full training is provided. You'll be teaching the most exciting Tech courses in the UK such as robotics, 3d printing, drone racing, and game design.

Most of our courses require strong programming skills but we do sometimes have other courses.  This year we are also looking for skills in 3D Printing/Fusion 360/FPV Drone Flying/Electronics.

You will also be required to help with a limited amount of other duties at camp.

What we ask:

  • You should be registered as a university student
  • You will be required to complete a short programming challenge during the interview in a language of your choice
  • Must enjoy working with children
  • Must have at least 1 full year remaining at university if studying a subject like computing or engineering, or working in a field like education where extended summer holidays allow you to also spend a number of weeks with us at camp
  • Must be based in the UK and be able to work without visa
  • Must be a confident communicator
  • Must be very experienced in at least 1 programming language (preferred) or very experienced in 3D Printing or FPV drone racing
  • Ideal for undergrad in engineering or computer schience

Extra information

You'll be working at one of our three summer camp venues. You must be available for at least all weeks running at one venue.

Venue locations:

  1. Fulham (non-residential venue, so you must have accommodation locally) July 26 - August 6 (TBC Later week until August 13) running Mondays-Fridays 9:00am-5:00pm
  2. Abingdon (non-residential venue, so you must have accommodation locally) July 19 - July 30
  3. Winchester (residential venue - all accommodation/food provided so you just need to be able to get to the venue on the first day and return back home on the last) July 30 - August 27
  4. We may also have need for remote tutors for our online courses TBC.

You'll be working with a small group of children aged 9-17 and following curriculum that we have developed.  Hours at the day venues are generally 9am-5pm although at our residential venue some weekend and evening work is required.
