We’re looking to recruit an experienced Buyer or Buying Manager based at our Head Office in Bradford buying for our Salad Bars and the Ingredients we use in our Fresh to Go departments. This is a 12 months FTC opportunity.
As part of the role you’ll have responsibility for buying, managing and simplifying the Fresh, Frozen and Ambient Ingredients we bring into our stores to make our baguettes, salads and pizzas, this will involve understanding the instore operation & specific requirements for each ingredient. The role is also responsible for buying and developing the Salad Bar category so you’ll need to be aware of market trends and have a passion for food.
A large element of the role will be driving consistency for our colleagues and customers, particularly around simplifying processes for our colleagues.
You’ll be joining a wider team who look after the rest of our Food to Go offering such as Sandwiches, Pie Shop, In Store Pizza and Hot food to go and working closely with them in regards to their requirements for ingredients.
What will I do in the role of a Buying Manager at Morrisons?
Drive profitability through sales and improve cost of goods
Show clear understanding of product range in terms of quality, cost and direction
Develop ranges and products to suit customer needs on our Salad Bar
Ensure continuity of supply and product availability through daily communication with stores, supply chain and logistics
Manage the supplier base to achieve cost savings and other End to End benefits for the business
You’ll need skills and experience like this;
Previous buying and negotiation experience
Market street experience would be beneficial but isn’t essential
It’s also beneficial for you to understand operations in store or manufacturing operations
Ability to process data and information and present back in a clear and concise way to key stakeholders
Strong stakeholder management skills
