Bat Conservation Trust seeking assistant to help run our National Bat Conference in London Borough of Lambeth

Help support our training team to organise and deliver the Conservation & Technology Conference and the 2019 National Bat Conference – the biggest event in the bat calendar.

What are you going to do

Joining the BCT training and conference team for this short term post, you will play a vital support role in the organisation and delivery of the Conservation & Technology Conference and the National Bat Conference – the biggest event in the bat calendar. You will be a proactive person with excellent organisation and administration skills as well as a clear communicator with experience of current Microsoft Office packages and good attention to detail. Good at team work and able to work under pressure. Previous office experience is essential. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of event organisation and management.

The conferences are taking place on 6-8 September 2019. This is a short term post from 5 August to 13 September inclusive.

What we ask:

  • At least finished high school
  • Attention to detail and an eye for well presented material/documents
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience working in an office and of working under pressure in a busy team
  • Experience in dealing with contractors and suppliers
  • Aptitude for using technological aids and applications in the office, such as conference phone, audio visual equipment, printer/photocopier
  • Motivated and proactive, able to work independently when required
  • Trustworthy and respectful of confidential information
  • Committed to protecting the natural environment
