AmeriAuPair are looking for people who have a strong interest in childcare and wish to join a host family in the states to help care for their children, whilst gaining a first hand experience of the culture of the USA.
Your day to day responsibilities will mainly include
§ Helping the children with their day to day routine, making sure they are washed, dressed and prepared for school in the mornings.
§ Getting involved with any extra curricular activities and assisting with homework.
§ House keeping relating to the children, making their meals, helping them keep their rooms tidy etc
§ Getting involved with fun and games when the parents are out
§ Driving the children to and from school and activities (if required)
Role Requirements:
As well as been friendly, upbeat, cheerful and great fun to be around you need to match these basic requirements: Aged 18-26, Clean criminal background check, To have completed secondary education, To be in good health (backed up by a medical report), Non smoking, To have relevant documented childcare experience, this could come from professional experience or simply from babysitting friends and family, If you wish to work with children under 2 years old you need at least 200 hours of professional documented experience, ,Be able to commit to a 12 month au pair position & to have a full driving licence.
Learn- You have the opportunity to study at a American college, chose from a wide range of courses at A-Level standard, so whether you want to learn another language or have a bash at psychology you will have the time and funds to do so as your host family will give you $500 for your fees.
Travel- With a 2 week paid vacation on top of your weekly time off you will have a chance to explore your local area and surrounding states. In addition you have 30 days at the end of your visa to explore America far and wide.
