The Cardio-Respiratory Department at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit a Degree Apprentice Cardiac Physiologist to support our existing team. We are a dynamic, forward thinking, and friendly team which is currently expanding and developing the services that we offer.
The Vacancy is based at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. The department offers a comprehensive range of Cardiac investigations, both invasive and non-invasive and we work closely with our Cardiologists providing diagnostic support. This exciting post combines in house training and 3 years part time, funded study at UWE Bristol to obtain a BSc in Healthcare Science Physiological Science (Please see attached link with further information).

You will have the opportunity to study for a fully funded BSc in Physiological Science (Cardiology specialism) whilst earning £15,816 PA.

You will be supported by senior staff with experience in supporting in house and placement students from local universities.

You will gain experience in diagnostic testing and management of patients with cardiac disorders including those patients seen in an emergency setting.
We are looking for individuals who are dedicated, flexible; thrive on variety and willing to learn new skills. You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and must have a positive and proactive approach to work. You will also need excellent time management skills as training consists of block release and on-line University course content and completion of a work based training portfolio.
You will also need to meet the course entry requirements –

GCSEs to include grade C or grade 4 in English Language, Science and Mathematics.

A Level Grade C or above in Chemistry or Biology, plus a pass in another science subject.

Equivalent qualifications or professional experience may also be accepted.
This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
