We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, passionate and enthusiastic Nurse with extensive Accident and Emergency Department experience to join our established minor injuries team at Yate. This is an exciting development role for those seeking the next step in their career. We are offering the opportunity to gain the ENP qualification through working with Sirona and attending UWE, the course will start in November 2019.

The Minor Injury unit is a busy, nurse led unit treating a variety of injury only clinical conditions, supporting the local Emergency Departments by avoiding attendances where possible. We give appropriate and responsive care to patients in a clean and pleasant environment.

The MIU is a small but exciting place to work. We have a skilled team of nurses, caring for patients from new born to the very elderly, with a mixture of registered adult and children’s nurses.

The Minor Injury unit is open every weekday from 08:00 until 20:00 365 days a year
Banding will be level 6 rising to level 7 once the qualification is gained and after a period of consolidation.
 
• Registered Adult Nurse NMC level 1 or equivalent
• Must hold a degree level qualification
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Perform clinical skills to a high level; suturing, Foreign Body removal, manipulation of dislocated joints, plaster of Paris application, burn care
• Have a good working knowledge of safeguarding issues for children and adults
• Ensure that accurate, contemporaneous documentation is achieved
• Be accountable for care using research based knowledge to inform practice
• Develop positive relationships with service users, be professional and polite at all times
• Be able to lead the team in Emergency situations
